Philosophy
The Koshawell is a massage and private yoga practice grounded in the understanding that human existence extends beyond the physical body. To support whole-body wellness, we integrate massage, yoga, and meditation. Each client is approached as an individual with a unique relationship to their physical, mental, energetic, and intuitive selves. Our mission is to provide practices that foster presence, balance, and an integrated state of well-being.
At its foundation, The Koshawell draws from the yogic philosophy of the koshas—five subtle layers, or “sheaths,” that surround and shape our experience of self. By engaging in bodywork, yoga, and meditation, clients can deepen awareness of these layers and cultivate greater calm, clarity, and harmony.
The Five Koshas (Pancha Kosha):
Physical Sheath (Annamaya Kosha) – the body itself, sustained by food and movement.
Energy Sheath (Pranamaya Kosha) – the breath and life force that animate the body.
Mind Sheath (Manomaya Kosha) – thoughts, emotions, and mental patterns.
Wisdom/Intuition Sheath (Vijnanamaya Kosha) – inner knowing and discernment.
Bliss Sheath (Anandamaya Kosha) – the deepest layer, a state of peace and joy.
